Audio Input Bars are not moving up and down (on the Record Tab) OR Audio is not being recorded at all
This issue typically occurs when either the microphone device is not connected to the sound card or the default recording device's microphone recording control is not selected.
First, verify that the microphone is properly connected to the on-board audio card and that the device is working properly. If microphone is connected and working then try the following to ensure the microphone recording control is selected:
From within Windows:
1. Select Start > Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices -
2. Click on the Audio tab - Note: You can also access this tab from within Presio by clicking the Adjust Audio Levels button on the Audio/Video Settings screen (See: Additional Troubleshooting note below for this method)
3. In the Sound Recording section, under Default Device select your preferred Audio device from the list
4. Click the Volume button.
5. In the Recording Control window, ensure the Microphone option is checked and the volume is up
6. Close the Recording Control window and return to Presio, the Audio Input bars should now be moving up and down and audio should be properly captured when Recording
If the previous set of steps did not resolve the issue, check to ensure that your Audio Device setting is properly set to and that Audio Input Source is set to Microphone (or Mic Volume, Mic, etc), from within the Presio Audio/Video Settings window:
From the Presio Start Screen:
1. Select Manage Audio/Video Settings... under Other Options
2. Under Choose Audio Settings select the appropriate audio device from the list:
3. Under the Audio Input Source, select Microphone (or Mic Volume, Mic, etc)
4. Click Ok to close the window
5. The Audio Input bars should now be moving up and down and/or Audio recording should work properly now
Captured audio volume is low or hard to hear
To adjust the audio recording volume level:
From Windows:
1. Select Start > Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices
2. Click on the Audio tab
3. In the Sound Recording section, under Default Device select Realtek Audio from the list
4. Click the Volume button.
5. In the Recording Control window, ensure the Microphone is checked
6. Adjust the Volume slider higher
7. Record a short presentation to verify audio volume is louder
